Dining & Nutrition

Eating is a social and an emotional experience, and our dining rooms are designed to create a relaxed and happy atmosphere, with menus that offer plenty of variety. Wherever possible we use locally sourced meat, fish and vegetables. We make a point of celebrating birthdays and special occasions.

Residents look forward to mealtimes at Highfield House as this is one of the highlights of the day. Our dining room which looks out on the garden is bright and attractive, and our menus are changed frequently. Pleasantly laid tables and little touches create an ambience that makes mealtimes enjoyable.

Our carers are always on hand at mealtimes to provide any necessary help.

Quality food, freshly prepared every day

Lunch and dinner are delicious cooked meals and specific dishes are prepared on request. All soups are homemade - 14 different, nutritious soups every week!

Our chef, Paulo, often talks to residents to ensure they enjoyed their meal. He also likes to take note of suggestions so he can implement these in future meals.

Resident’s likes and dislikes are recorded in the care plans and we cater for any medical or nutritional needs such as diabetics, allergies and soft or pureed diets.

We were one of the first Care home to be awarded 5 stars and have maintained our 5 stars since the inception of the environmental health rating of catering facilities on the Island.
